Colombia, tercer productor del mundo, intenta mantenerse un paso por delante, mientras se exploran nuevas latitudes m\u00e1s propicias en las que cultivar, como Argentina.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El caf\u00e9 s\u00f3lo puede producirse entre los tr\u00f3picos ya determinadas alturas sobre el nivel del mar, donde los patrones de temperatura y humedad facilitan su maduraci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, el <strong>cambio clim\u00e1tico amenaza y est\u00e1 provocando que buscar nuevos sitios de producci\u00f3n de caf\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Un grupo de investigadores de la <strong>Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas de Z\u00farich<\/strong> analiz\u00f3 la viabilidad futura del cultivo de caf\u00e9, junto con el de anacardo y aguacate, bas\u00e1ndose en un conjunto de 14 modelos clim\u00e1ticos, adem\u00e1s de otros factores como cambios en el\u00a0<span class=\"hiddenSpellError\">PH<\/span>\u00a0y textura de la tierra a ra\u00edz de patrones de lluvia alterados. De este estudio, se concluy\u00f3 que las regiones aptas para la producci\u00f3n de caf\u00e9 podr\u00edan reducirse hasta un 50% en los pr\u00f3ximos\u00a0<span class=\"hiddenGreenError\">30<\/span>\u00a0a\u00f1os, debido al aumento de la temperatura media en los principales pa\u00edses productores, como el <strong>Brasil, Vietnam, Colombia o Indonesia<\/strong>. Sin embargo, este incremento de la temperatura podr\u00eda provocar que se pueda cultivar caf\u00e9 en otras zonas en las que no se daban estas condiciones, hasta ahora.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed, los productores de caf\u00e9 ya se est\u00e1n adaptando para anticiparse a este hecho futuro. <strong>Colombia, el tercer productor mundial de caf\u00e9<\/strong>, seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentaci\u00f3n y la Agricultura (FAO), el Centro Nacional de B\u00fasquedas de Caf\u00e9 (<span class=\"hiddenSpellError\">Cenicaf\u00e9<\/span>) lleva desde 1938 trabajando para fortalecer los campos de cultivo del pa\u00eds. Ante este nuevo panorama clim\u00e1tico, su trabajo se ha intensificado.
